Welcome to No Tree Nuts, the website dedicated to anyone living with tree nut allergies.
More than three million Americans are allergic to tree nuts and/or peanuts. (Figures for the number of people allergic exclusively to tree nuts are not available.) Tree nuts are among the eight foods that account for 90 percent of all food-allergic reactions in the U.S.

"Tree nuts" is the term used to refer to any nut that grows on a tree. Peanuts are not classified as a tree nut, because they grow in the ground and are actually a legume, rather than a nut. Some of the tree nuts most commonly found in foods today include pecans, walnuts, cashews, almonds and hazelnuts, among others.
Tree nut allergies are potentially life-threatening, rarely outgrown and appear to be on the rise. Nuts are often considered the food allergen that produces the most severe reaction.
As the mother of a child with severe tree nut allergies, preventing accidental exposure to tree nuts is integral to everything our family does. Even after several years, I am still learning every day about foods and products to avoid.
I created this website to help others, especially parents like myself, in keeping their children safe. Here, I've compiled the many resources that I've discovered in my journey to protect my tree nut-allergic child. I hope that this site will become a trusted destination for you when you need quick and easy access to valuable information.
